Canaan Creative Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Canaan Creative”) and relevant affiliate (hereinafter referred to as “Canaan Inc.”) own and operate the Canaan Inc. Developer Community (hereinafter referred to as “Platform” or “Developer Community”. Any domain name or website name change shall be subject to the announcements on the Platform). Canaan Inc. is fully aware of the importance of personal information to you. We will take security measures that conform to the mature security standards in the industry to protect your personal information in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. We will protect your personal information and privacy security on the follwing principles, including consistency of powers and responsibilities, definite purpose, selective consent, minimum necessity, openness and transparency, security assurance, subject participation, etc. Therefore, we have formulated this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) with special reminders: We hope you read carefully and understand this Policy before using the Developer Community and relevant services, and you can make your appropriate choices in accordance with our guidelines. Once you register, log in or use the Developer Community, you shall be deemed to have fully understood and agreed to this Policy. Please be reminded that this Policy only applies to the information collected by us, and does not apply to the information collected by third-party products and/or services (including any third-party websites) accessed through our products and/or services and the information collected by other companies or organizations that perform advertising services in our products and/or services. This Policy is written in Chinese, and any English translation is for convenience purposes only. In the event of any discrepancy between the Chinese portion of this Policy and any English translation, the Chinese portion shall govern.

Relevant Terms and Definitions

1.Canaan Inc. means the Platform or Canaan Creative Co., Ltd. and its affiliate, the subject of ownership or operation rights to the Platform.

2. Personal information means any information, recorded electronically or otherwise, that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify a natural person or reflect the activities of a natural person, including basic personal information (name, date of birth), personal identity information (ID card, military officer certificate, passport, work permit), personal biometric information (personal gene, fingerprint), online identity information (system account number, IP address, E-mail address and the aforementioned relevant cryptograms, passwords, and password protection answers), physiological and health information, personal education and work information (personal occupation, position, employer, educational background, academic degree, educational experience), personal property information (bank account, bank deposit information, transaction and consumption records, property information, credit information), personal communication information (communication contact information, communication records and contents), contact information (contacts, friend list, list of chat groups), personal web surfing records (mean the records of user operations stored in the log), information of often used equipment (including hardware serial number, equipment MAC address, list of software, and unique equipment identifier), personal location information (including records of whereabouts, precise location information, accommodation information), other information (marriage history, religious preference, sexual orientation, undisclosed criminal records, etc.). This definition comes from GB/T 35273-2017 Information security technology-Personal information security specification.

3. Sensitive personal information means the information vital to personal interests, that once leaked, illegally provided, or misused, may endanger personal and property security, or easily lead to damage to one’s personal reputation, mental & physical health, or discriminatory treatment, including personal property information (bank account, authentication information, transaction and consumption records, account details, etc.), personal biometric information, personal identity information (ID card, military officer certificate, passport, work permit), online identity information (system account number, E-mail address and the aforementioned relevant cryptograms, passwords, and password protection answers), other information (personal phone number, sexual orientation, marriage history, records of whereabouts, web browsing history, precise location information), etc. We will bold and italicize all sensitive personal information in this Policy. This definition comes from GB/T 35273-2017 Information security technology-Personal information security specification.

4. Collection means the act of obtaining control of personal information, including the act of automatically collecting personal information such as accepting the personal information volunteered by personal information subjects, obtaining personal information by interacting with personal information subjects or by recording the behavior of personal information subjects, and the act of indirectly obtaining personal information through sharing, transferring, collecting publicly available information, etc.

5. Delete means the act of removing personal information from the system performing day-to-day business functions to keep it irretrievable and inaccessible.

6. Public disclosure means the act of releasing the information to the public or to a non-specific group.

7. Transfer means the process of moving the control of personal information from one controller to another.

8. Sharing means the process by which a personal information controller provides personal information under its control to another personal information controller, resulting in each party having independent control over the personal information.

Anonymization means the irreversible technical process that makes personal information subjects unidentifiable and the processed information cannot be restored. Notes: Anonymized personal information is no longer deemed personal information.

10. De-identification means the technical process that makes personal information subjects unidentifiable without the help of additional information.

11. Affiliates mean companies that have an affiliated relationship with each other. An affiliated relationship means the relationship between the company’s controlling shareholders, actual controllers, directors, supervisors, and senior managers and their directly or indirectly controlled companies, and other relationships that may lead to the transfer of the company’s interests.

I. Information that Canaan Inc. may collect and use

The personal information collected and used by Canaan Inc. mainly includes the personal information you provided at time of registration and the information obtained by Canaan Inc. based on your authorization during the use of Canaan Inc.’s relevant products and/or services.

1.1 Unsolicited information

(1) The name, ID number, mobile phone number, E-mail address and other information you voluntarily provide when you register or use Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services.

(2) The information you upload while using Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services.

(3) The information you provide during your participation in online and/or offline events organized by Canaan Inc.

1.2 Information collected and used during the use of products and services

(1) Device information

When you use Canaan Inc.’s relevant products and/or services, we will collect your login device information, including device name, device model, device identification code, operating system and application version, language setting, resolution, service provider, network ID (PLMN) and other relevant information to better serve you.

(2) Log information

When you use Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services, we may automatically collect certain information through cookies or other methods and store it in web search terms, visited page addresses, user habits statistics, etc. in server logs, as well as the version information, browser, IP address information you use, and system crashes during your use of products and/or services.

(3) Location information

When you enable the device positioning function while using Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services, we may use WiFi or other technical methods to collect and process your actual location information, such as your whereabouts, precise location.

1.3 The above information you provide will be continuously authorized and used by us when you use Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services. When you cancel your account, we will stop using and delete the above information. By providing the above information, especially sensitive personal information, you may face such risks as user information leakage or user account theft, unsure personal privacy and property security, etc., but we will make every effort to avoid the above risks. If you do not agree to provide the above information for Canaan Inc., you may not be able to register as our user or enjoy the products and/or services we provide, or it may affect your use of Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services and the quality of user experience.

II. Rules for collecting and using information by Canaan Inc.

2.1 The information collected by Canaan Inc. may be used for the following purposes

(1) The personal information you provide will be used for identity verification, customer services, security precautions, archiving and backup during your login and use of products and services, so as to determine the uniqueness of your identity, and ensure the security of services provided by Canaan Inc. for you.

(2) Improve Canaan Inc.’s process of providing products and services, meet user’s personal requirements and enhance user experience. For example, we may collect a series of information from you in the process of questionnaire surveys and communication with the Platform customer service staff to improve customer service experience.

(3) Canaan Inc. may use your information to analyze and design new products and services within the scope permitted by laws.

(4) Other purposes agreed by you.

2.2 Rules for collecting and using information by Canaan Inc.

(1) Canaan Inc. will take any and all reasonable and feasible security measures to protect user information and prevent unauthorized access, public disclosure, use, modification, damage or loss of user information.

(2) After collecting your personal information, Canaan Inc. will de-identify the data by taking technical means, so that the subject of your information cannot be identified. You hereby agree that Canaan Inc. reserves the right to analyze user database and make commercial use after the above personal information processing.

(3) You hereby agree that Canaan Inc. will continue using your information in accordance with this Policy within the valid period of your account in the case you do not cancel your account or make special settings.

(4) Canaan Inc. will take desensitization measures such as anonymization and information replacement to protect your personal privacy and information security while using your information.

(5) Canaan Inc. will obtain your consent in advance when using your information for other purposes not specified in this Policy.

2.3 You need to be reminded that Canaan Inc. does not have to obtain consent from you for using your personal information in the following cases:

(1) Related to the fulfillment of obligations under laws and regulations by the personal information controller;

(2) Directly related to national security or national defense;

(3) Directly related to public security, public health or major public interests;

(4) Directly related to criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials or execution of court decisions;

(5) For the purpose of safeguarding the life, property or other significant legitimate rights and interests of the personal information subjects or other individuals, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the personal information subjects;

(6) The personal information involved is disclosed to the public by yourself;

(7) Your personal information is collected from legally and publicly disclosed information, such as legal news reports and government information disclosure;

(8) The collecting and using of personal information are essential to the signing and performance of a contract requested by yourself;

(9) The collecting and using of personal information are essential to maintaining safe and stable operation of the products or services provided, such as the discovery and handling of product or service failures;

(10) The collecting and using of personal information are essential to carrying out statistics or academic research for public interests, provided that the personal information contained in the results is de-identified when it makes the academic research or the descriptive results available.

III. How your personal information is shared, transferred and publicly disclosed by Canaan Inc.

We are fully aware of the legal liabilities that we shall bear when personal information subjects are damaged due to illegal sharing, transfer, or public disclosure of personal information. For all sharing, transfer, and public disclosure of your personal information, we will strictly abide by the following terms:

3.1 We will not share your personal information with any company, organization or individual, except in the following cases:

(1) With your explicit consent, we will share your personal information with other parties.

(2) We may share your personal information externally in accordance with laws and regulations, the need for litigation and dispute resolution, or the requests made by administrative or judiciary authorities in accordance with the law.

(3) Your personal information may be shared with Canaan Inc.’s affiliates. We will only share necessary personal information and are bound by the purpose specified in this Policy. If an affiliate intends to change the purpose of processing personal information, it will seek your authorization and consent again.

(4) In order to protect the interests, property or security of Canaan Inc., you or other Canaan Inc. users or the public from damage, we may share your personal information within the scope permitted by laws.

3.2 Transfer

We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organization or individual, except in the following cases:

(1) We have obtained your explicit consent or authorization in advance.

(2) We provide your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, legal procedure, mandatory administrative or judicial requirements.

(3) We provide your personal information in accordance with relevant agreements (including electronic agreements signed online and corresponding Platform rules) or other legal instruments signed with you.

(4) When the transfer of personal information is involved in a(n) merger, acquisition, asset transfer or bankruptcy liquidation or similar transaction, we will require the new company or organization holding your personal information to continue to be bound by this Policy; otherwise we will require the new company or organization to seek your authorization and consent again.

3.3 Public disclosure

(1) You agree to or authorize Canaan Inc. to disclose.

(2) In cases where your personal information are required to be provided in accordance with the requirements of laws and regulations, mandatory administrative law enforcement or judicial requirements, Canaan Inc. may publicly disclose your personal information based on the requested personal information type and the disclosure way. Under the premise of complying with laws and regulations, when Canaan Inc. receives the above request for information disclosure, we will require producing corresponding legal instruments, such as a survey letter. Canaan Inc. will disclose your personal information on the principle of prudence to ensure that it has a legal basis and is limited to data obtained by law-enforcing departments for specific investigation purposes and have legitimate interests.

(3) We disclose your personal information in accordance with the user agreement of Canaan Inc.’s relevant products and/or services or other similar agreements. For example, subject to the needs for maintaining the Developer Community, punishment announcements (publishing the homepage link of the account being punished) will be issued for account numbers against rules, frauds, abusive behaviors and other behaviors that seriously damage the Developer Community, or necessary matters are disclosed such as displaying relevant information when the list of awardees/winners is announced.

3.4 Exceptions to the authorization to share, transfer, and publicly disclose personal information:

In accordance with laws and regulations, Canaan Inc. does not have to obtain consent from you for sharing, transferring, and publicly disclosing your personal information in the following cases:

(1) Related to our fulfillment of obligations under laws and regulations;

(2) Directly related to national security or national defense;

(3) Directly related to public security, public health or major public interests;

(4) Directly related to criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials or execution of court decisions;

(5) For the purpose of safeguarding the life, property or other significant legitimate rights and interests of you or other individuals, and it is difficult to obtain your consent;

(6) The personal information involved is disclosed to the public by yourself;

(7) The personal information is collected from legally and publicly disclosed information, such as legal news reports and government information disclosure.

Cookies and similar technologies are common and general technologies on the Internet. Using cookies can help you personalize your online experience. You can accept or reject cookies. Most web browsers will automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to reject cookies subject to your needs. When you use the Developer Community and relevant services, we may use relevant technologies to send one or more cookies or anonymous identifiers to your device to collect and identify information when you visit and use this service. We use cookies and similar technologies to mainly achieve the following functions and/or services:

4.1 Ensure the safe and efficient operation of products and services

Canaan Inc. may set cookies or anonymous identifiers for authentication and security, so that we can confirm whether you log in to the service safely, or whether you have encountered illegal acts such as thefts or frauds. These technologies will also help us improve the efficiency of our services and increase the speed of login and response.

4.2 Help you get an easier access experience

In order to ensure the normal operation of the website and improve the user’s personal experience, Canaan Inc. will use cookie technology to allow the website server to store data on the client or read data from the client. The information processed by cookies generally needs to be encrypted. Cookie technology will improve your user experience.

4.3 Display and push contents that you may be interested in

Canaan Inc. may use cookies and similar technologies to understand your preferences and using habits, perform consultations or data analysis to improve product services and user experience. Canaan Inc. hereby covenants that we will not use cookies for any purpose other than those specified in this Policy.

4.4 Clearing of cookies

You can choose to delete cookies or manage cookies subject to your needs, but when you take measures such as deletion, the information you previously recorded will be deleted, and you need to change user settings every time you log in, which may have a certain impact on the security and user experience when you use Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services.

V. How your personal information is protected and stored by Canaan Inc.

5.1 Data security technical measures

(1) Canaan Inc. has taken security protection measures that conform to industry standards, including establishing reasonable system specifications and security technologies to prevent your personal information from unauthorized access, use, modification, and data damage or loss.

(2) For the network services provided, Canaan Inc. has taken HTTPS and other methods to provide browsing services to ensure the security of user data during transmission. We will use security technologies and procedure to monitor and record network operation status and network security incidents, and take necessary technical measures to ensure network security to prevent information loss, improper use, unauthorized reading or disclosure.

(3) Canaan Inc. will adopt strict data access control and multi-identity authentication technology to protect personal information and prevent data from being used in violation of laws and regulations.

5.2 Strictly restrict access

Canaan Inc. only allows its staff members who need to know your personal information to access to your personal information, and has set up strict access control and monitoring mechanisms for such purpose. We also require all personnel who may have access to your personal information to fulfill corresponding confidentiality obligations. If they fail to fulfill these obligations, they may be held legally liable.

5.3 We will take all reasonable and feasible measures to ensure that no irrelevant personal information is collected. Unless we obtain your written permission, we will retain your personal information for thirty-six months after you delete or cancel your account. We will anonymize or destroy your personal information after the above period.

5.4 The contents and information (such as event photos and other information) you provide, upload or publish when using Canaan Inc.’s products and services may reveal your personal information. Before using the above service process, you shall carefully consider whether to accept the relevant services provided by Canaan Inc.

5.5 The Internet is not an absolutely secure network environment, and it cannot be determined whether the communication modes with other users such as E-mail, instant messaging, social software, etc. are completely encrypted. Canaan Inc. recommends that you use complex passwords when using such tools, and pay attention to protecting your personal information. Otherwise, you will be solely liable for the loss of passwords or information leakage for your own reasons.

5.6 Security incident handling

(1) In view of the risks of personal information leakage, damage and loss, Canaan Inc. has established a number of security systems to clarify the categories and levels of security incidents and security vulnerabilities, and formulated relevant processing procedure. Also, Canaan Inc. has established a special emergency response team to initiate security counterplans for different security incidents in accordance with the company’s relevant security incident handling specifications, and to conduct stop losses, analyze, formulate remedial measures, and cooperate with relevant departments to trace and crack down.

(2) In the event of a security incident, Canaan Inc. will, in accordance with the requirements of laws and regulations, promptly inform you of the basic situation and possible impact of the security incident, the disposal measures that have been taken or will be taken, and the suggestions that you can independently prevent and reduce risks, the remedial measures to be taken, etc. We will also inform you of the incident in a timely manner by E-mail, push notification, etc. If it is difficult to inform the personal information subjects one by one, we will publish an announcement in a reasonable and effective manner. Also, we will actively report the handling of personal information security incidents in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory authorities.

VI. How to manage your personal information

6.1 Canaan Inc. attaches great importance to the protection of your personal information, and makes every effort to protect your rights to access, correct, delete and withdraw consent to personal information within the scope permitted by laws, so that you can fully safeguard your privacy and security. Your rights include:

(1) Access to your personal information

Unless otherwise required by judiciary or administrative authorities, you reserve the right to access your personal information through the channels published on each product and service page of Canaan Inc. If you are unable to access through the above methods, you can contact us at any time and we will respond to your request as soon as possible.

(2) Amend your personal information

When you find that the personal information you fill in or your personal information we process is wrong, you reserve the right to amend it by yourself, but the amendment of relevant information may affect your use of relevant products or services or the realization of some functions. When you are unable to amend by yourself, you can contact us at any time and we will respond to your request as soon as possible.

(3) Delete your personal information

You reserve the right to delete by yourself or contact us to delete your personal information at any time. You can request us to delete your personal information in the following cases:

(a) Our handling of personal information violates laws and regulations;

(b) We collect and use your personal information without obtaining your consent;

(c) Our handling of personal information violates our agreement with you;

(d) You no longer use our products or services, or you have cancelled your account;

(e) We no longer provide you with products or services.

If we decide to respond to your deletion request, we will also notify the entities that have obtained your personal information from Canaan Inc. in a cooperative manner and request them to delete the same in a timely manner, unless these entities obtain your independent authorization. However, please be aware that if your public information on Canaan Inc. is captured, cached, stored, copied by other users or independent third parties that are not cooperating with or associated with us, or not under our control, or uploaded or saved by other users on other websites, the relevant information will not be under the control of Canaan Inc.

We will also delete the corresponding information from the backup system after you delete your personal information from our service.

If we stop operations due to mismanagement and other reasons, we will immediately stop the collection of your corresponding personal information and delete the personal information already collected.

(4) Change the scope of your authorization or withdraw your authorization

Each business function requires some basic personal information for completion. For the collection and use of additional personal information, you can grant or withdraw your authorization and consent at any time. You can change the scope of your authorization or withdraw your authorization by deleting information, etc. We will no longer process the corresponding personal information after you withdraw your consent. However, your decision to withdraw your consent will not affect the previous personal information processing based on your authorization.

(5) Cancel/delete account

You can apply for cancelling relevant accounts through the contact information specified in Article IX hereof. We will determine whether you meet the cancellation conditions based on your account security status and product service information. After you cancel your account, Canaan Inc. will stop providing you with product or service functions in connection with your account, and will delete or anonymize your personal information, unless otherwise required by laws and regulations or at your request.

6.2 Respond to your above request

If you are unable to access, amend, or delete your personal information, or you need to access, amend, or delete other personal information generated when using Canaan Inc.’s products and/or services, or you believe that Canaan Inc. has any violation of laws and regulations or any agreement with you regarding the collection or use of personal information, you can contact us through the contact information specified in Article IX hereof. To ensure security, you may be required to provide a written request or otherwise prove your identity. We may request you to verify your identity before processing your request. We will give a reply within fifteen business days. If you are not satisfied, you can also make a complaint through the following channels: Sending an E-mail to [Developersupport@canaan-creative.com]. For your reasonable request, we do not charge generally, but for repeated requests that exceed a reasonable limit, we will charge certain costs as the case may be. We may refuse requests that are unreasonably repeated, require too many technical means (for example, the need to develop new systems or fundamentally change existing practices), bring risks to the legitimate rights and interests of others, or are very impractical (for example, involving information stored on backup tapes).

In accordance with laws and regulations, we will not be able to respond to your requests in the following cases:

(a) Related to the fulfillment of obligations under laws and regulations by personal information controllers;

(b) Directly related to national security or national defense;

(c) Directly related to public security, public health or major public interests;

(d) Directly related to criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials or execution of court decisions;

(e) There is sufficient evidence to show that you have subjective malice or abuse of rights;

(f) Responding to your request will cause serious damage to the legitimate rights and interests of you or other individuals or organizations;

(g) For the purpose of safeguarding the life, property or other significant legitimate rights and interests of you or other individuals, and it is hard to obtain consent from yourself;

(h) Involving business secrets.

VII. Information protection for minors

7.1 If you are a minor under the age of 18, you are required to read and agree to this Policy under the supervision and guidance of your parents or other guardians before using the Canaan Inc. Developer Community and relevant services.

7.2 Canaan Inc. will protect the personal information of minors in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, and only collect, use, store, share, transfer or disclose the personal information of minors when permitted by law, parents or other guardians, or necessary to protect minors. If Canaan Inc. discovers that it has collected the personal information of minors without obtaining verifiable consent form their parents in advance, it will try to delete the relevant information as soon as possible.

7.3 If you are the guardian of a minor, when you have any questions about the personal information of the minor you guard, please contact us through the contact information specified in this Policy.

VIII. Amendment and update of this Policy

8.1 This Policy will be amended and updated accordingly with the continuous development of Canaan Inc. and the aim of continuously improving service quality and product quality. We will not limit or reduce your rights under this Policy without your consent. This Policy will be announced on the Canaan Inc. website and mobile client after its amendment and update, and the changes will be prompted in a pop-up box or a way that is as significant as the pop-up box. We will notify and explain major changes through E-mails or special reminders on the page, etc.

8.2 By continuing using Canaan Inc.’s products and services, you shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by this Policy after the amendment and update. Otherwise, please stop using Canaan Inc.’s relevant products and services immediately.

8.3 After this Policy is updated, Canaan Inc. will make an announcement through the official website (https://canaan-creative.com) or remind you of the updated contents in other appropriate manners before the updated terms of the Developer Community take effect, so that you can learn about the latest version of this Policy.

10.2 Disputes arising from this Policy and our handling of your personal information can be resolved by filing a lawsuit with the people’s court having jurisdiction in the place where Canaan Creative is domiciled.
